Picture Dictionary English:

A user and kid friendly dictionary that includes a picture and audio description of each word. You can search it alphabetically or by concepts. This app would encourage V's reading skills, audio-visual correlation, and vocabulary.

Tapgram:

This app offers a way for V to communicate safely and without much complications. The app allows users to send/post messages by simply clicking on pictures. His family and friends can also create an account online to see what he shares and send a message back. This app would also help him understand new concepts visually.

Communication Connection App

I want to create an app the recognizes when V. wants to make a call, text or mark something on the calender. The screen would be divided into 3 buttons, one for each of the actions. V. would have to press one of the 3 buttons or say the actions he wants to choose. For call the app would ask who he wants to call and he would respond. The phone wouldn't automatically call the person, it would make him type in the telephone # one digit at a time by following the number his phone shows him. To text, V. would be able to say what he wants to text and the phone would repeat it back to him in his voice. To mark something on the calender, V. would press the calender button and say what he needs to do and the date. The phone would remind him with either a picture he selects for the event or text.
App #1

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wms.app.lifeskills

The first one is a Life Skills App, which keeps track of different goals and tasks that the child needs to accomplish and when they accomplish them, they get a point. Parents who have used this App responded highly about it and felt it was useful. I think this would serve as a great motivator to kids with Autism because they could keep track of all they have done and get prizes when they reach a certain amount of points.

The second App I found is call the Turn Taker App. This one allows you to set time limits when conversing so the child with autism knows when their time to talk is up and they have to let the other person talk. I think this is useful because it will teach them social queues and skills. A lot of kids with autism don’t pick up on how to carry a conversation so they either don’t listen to another person or they don’t let them talk.
V could greatly benefit from the free android app called Vlingo Virtual Assistant. You can speak to vlingo and it will do whatever you say, such as 'text grandma I love you.' And it will text for you. Or 'call Grandma.' And it will call for you. You don't have to press buttons or type or anything! This would be great for V so he doesn't have to worry about spelling or pressing the small buttons, he can just learn a few steps to activate the app and be able to tell vlingo whatever he wants it to do!

To help V develop his social skills the Conversation social is a very useful tool designed for students with Autism, Aspergers and special needs. This app is equipped with four social stories about different conversational skills and simple communication tools that go with them. Some of the topics the stories focus on are greetings, asking someone to play, and more importantly ideas about what to talk about in a conversation and tips for great conversation. Some stories include buttons with images that play a part of the conversation that the story is about. The buttons also have a picture that represents the idea and play a message when it is tapped. This app can help V develop the social skills he needs to not only communicate with his peers but it can help him develop conversational skills for when he learns how to text. It can help him carry out the conversations via text that keep him excited about communication. It is great that he has found something that gets him excited about communication and social interaction and it is very important to build on that.
iStoryBooks

This app allows you to add or remove any books for your mobile library, helping V choose stories that he would be interested in that would also help in comprehension.

According to androidapps.com the type of books for this app are very wide verities.
